Please see the ‘Little Things we Accept’ for a full list of what we are able to second-life.
For health and safety reasons there are some items that we cannot accept. Please refer to ‘A Few Things we Can’t Accept’ to see what these are.
Yes. Please read the full description and safety guidelines under the items you wish to donate. We check every item to ensure it meets NZ product safety standards. We need to ensure all items are of high quality and safe for a baby to use.
All clothing and linen must be freshly washed. Many families we support do not have access to washing facilities. Other items like toys, strollers, prams, car seats and highchairs must be thoroughly cleaned.
We take pride in distributing goods in great condition. We believe that every donation is a gift and every family deserves to receive these gifts in excellent condition.
Your donations are distributed to our partner organisations who are already working with families in need across the Auckland region. Their frontline staff of midwives, nurses, social workers, support workers and other healthcare/community practitioners have the ability to assess who will benefit most from donations.
They pass them immediately on to families and ensure that your precious items are received by the little ones who need them most.
We’re always in need of things like nappies, wipes and mother/baby toiletries. Pop a few items in your shopping trolley when next at the supermarket. Buy something new like prem/newborn clothing, blankets, books or toys which we can include as a special gift in our pre-loved bundles. Many of our families don’t receive gifts for their babies, so to have something brand new is a special treat.
Don’t have time? or just simply don’t like shopping? Why not make a cash donation instead. This can help to support our volunteer team to reach even more families in need. You can make an online donation here.
Here’s a few more ideas about how you can help in other ways.
Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to direct requests for items as we distribute donations through our collaborative partner organisations. Please talk to your midwife, healthcare provider or other community support organisation.
Ask to be referred to a Social Worker. They will assess your needs and may be able to assist you. Check your local community ‘Pay it Forward’ Facebook pages as they often have families who are happy to donate or sell items at a very low price.
